Skills First Funding
Skills First is a Victorian Government program that provides access to government-subsidised training for courses in growth industries.
From January 1st 2023, you need to meet these requirements to be eligible for Skills First subsidised training:
- Citizenship You must be: an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen
- Physical location You must be physically present in Victoria while participating in training and assessment.
- Course limits Skills First funding is limited to: two courses at a time two courses in a year

Vative Healthcare/Nursing Academy does not charge student tuition fees or materials and administration fees for enrolments related to Government subsidised training (eligible Victorian candidates).
The student tuition fees as published within the Fees, Refunds and Cancellations policy on this website are correct as of this date, however can be subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.
What is USI?
UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)
From the first of January 2015, all students participating in Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). We are required by Commonwealth legislation to have this number recorded for your training and cannot enrol new students without this number. If you do not have a USI, you can find more information on obtaining one here. Your USI may be used for reporting Training Activity Data to the Department.
