CERTIFICATE IV IN AGEING SUPPORT

This Certificate IV in Ageing Support (CHC43015) is suitable for staff already employed in residential aged care and would like to enhance their knowledge and skills in this growing industry. This course is designed to educate staff in problem solving and critical thinking. You will be given the opportunity to work on a continuous improvement project and facilitate the empowerment of older people. The program also aims to provide you with leadership skills: giving you knowledge and confidence to support independence and wellbeing of those you care for in the community.

Vative Healthcare Pre-requisites: Nil

Course Duration: 6 months (minimum of one day of training per month)

Mandatory Placement: 120 hours of professional work placement

Study mode: Workplace Based Delivery

Assessment: During the course students will be assessed by the educator through classroom observations, workplace activities, group activities, simulation activity, case studies, group discussion, questions and answers assessments, role plays/scenario responses and completion of the minimum 120 hours of support work.

Practical Observations: This takes place in the students’ workplace, an VHC representative will attend your workplace at a pre-arranged time that is determined by VHC and your employer.  You will demonstrate skills you have been taught whilst completing your daily workplace tasks.  Please also refer to the student handbook which is available on this website in Student Resources
